Wax cord is perfectly suitable for knotting. If you use wax cord in your designs, it would be a shame not to use this technique. Using a knotting technique in your jewelry design can enrich your design.
Step 1:
Take two or three pieces of cord of the same length; the cords must be long enough for a piece of jewelry (keep in mind that due to the knotting technique, the cords will become quite a bit shorter) and fix one cord crimp to the cords.
Step 2:
Make small knots in several cords. Make sure the knots in the cords are not exactly beneath each other. This technique might not work if the knot in each cord is in exactly the same position.
Step 3:
String one or several beads on each cord.
Step 4:
Make knots in several wires.
Step 5:
Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 to your own accord. Make after step 3 or 4 every so often one knot with all three cords together.
Step 6:
When your piece of jewelry has reached the desired length, fix one cord crimp to the cords.
Tip! Step 7:
If necessary, cut the redundant cord with scissors.
Tip!
If you make a piece of jewelry with three wires, you could make a knot with two cords every so often.
Variation! You could also decide to start with a large knot with all three cords together and then alternate the steps 3, 4 and 5. If you want a symmetrical piece of jewelry, make sure you finish with the same step as the one you started with.
